This month’s Beauty Box is worth £60 and contains:
Madara Smart Antioxidants Anti-Fatigue Eye Rescue Cream (15ml, worth £31.00)
This cream has been formulated to reduce fine lines, dark circles, puffiness and tired eyes, which is EXACTLY what the skin under my eyes needs right now. I’ve already started using it so I’m really curious to see if it makes any difference to my under-eye circles. If I was picky, I’d just prefer to see fewer ingredients in a natural skincare product (find out why this matters here) but overall, the ingredients don’t contain any ‘nasties’. MORE INFO >>>

LaidBare Working 9 to 5 Anti-ageing Cream (50ml, worth £7.99)
My only sticking point are a few ingredients derived from palm oil, making this cream not particularly ethical but otherwise the list doesn’t contain any harmful ingredients. MORE INFO >>>

Inika Vegan Lipstick (shade Naked Kiss, 4.2g, £18.00)
Inika has become my go-to makeup brand, after falling in love with their liquid foundation (a full review here) and a lip and cheek cream. I’ve heard great things about their lipsticks so to have it included in the box was such a pleasant surprise. Inika lipsticks contain simply gorgeous organic ingredients, with skin-nourishing shea butter, jojoba, argan and avocado oils right a the top of the list. I received the Naked Kiss shade which is a lovely autumnal dusty pink shade. The lipstick feels velvety soft when on the lips and gives a natural shimmer, even without a lip balm as a base, which is what I normally have to do to ensure the lipstick doesn’t look dry. The Seaweed Bath Co. Balancing Eucalyptus & Peppermint shampoo and conditioner (samples; full sizes worth £16.99 for 360ml)
My hair and have had a very turbulent relationship for as long as I can remember. I simply can’t count the amount of different shampoos and conditioners (both conventional and natural) I’ve tried over the years trying to find some that would be suitable to my hair. At the first sight, this set seemed ideal for my oily hair, however having used the samples twice, unfortunately the shampoo made my hair frizzy, and looking wild and untameable. I also tried the conditioner after a different shampoo and my hair wasn’t as frizzy but it did make it weigh down and greasy at the back of my head. I’ve heard mixed reviews from other bloggers who got it so I guess that you just need to test it to make a judgement for yourself. The ingredients list looks good though. REN Perfect Canvas – Skin Enhancing Priming Serum (sample, full size worth £50 for 30ml)
Having been using natural skincare for a couple of years now and having decent knowledge of potentially harmful ingredients, I’m always a bit surprised to see ingredients such as phenoxyethanol (a preservative) in a product that’s advertised as natural. The jury is out on the extent of its potential harm but some research shows that it can cause allergies and also affect infants’ nervous system. MORE INFO >>>
