Painting my nails is one of the things that instantly lifts up my mood. Are you the same? But are you worried about the chemicals being used in conventional nail polishes?
Luckily, in the natural beauty world, there’s more and more new brands emerging with toxin-free nail polishes. For the past few months, I’ve been using nail polishes from Glossworks by LoveLula, and I’d like to tell you a little more about them.
When I was on maternity leave, once the exhausting newborn stage was over and I felt human again, I did three things to make myself feel better. Foundation on my tired face, mascara to open up my eyes and a nice colour on my nails.
There’s just something really therapeutic about being able to paint your nails a different pretty colour depending on your mood, outfit or season. In winter I like nude or dark colours whereas the summer inspires me to be more adventurous and go for bolder shades, like coral or red.
Glossworks nail polishes are professionally formulated and are free from nine potentially toxic ingredients commonly found in conventional nail varnishes (i.e. Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, Toluene, DBP, Camphor, Paraben, Xylene, Ethyl Tosylamide or Lead). You may also see them referred to as “9-free” (there are also other brands which are 5- or 7-free). They’re also suitable for vegans.
They give a nice glossy finish thanks to their gel-like consistency and last fairly long (providing you use a top coat). Priced £12 for a 9ml bottle, they’re also very affordable.
When my Mum visited a few weeks ago, we had a fun girly afternoon together (which I don’t tend to get surrounded by boys’ stuff, football, etc.) with lots of chatting, laughing as well as painting each other’s nails so check out our video:
Do you like either or both shades? I have to say that Tanfastic Nude is my preferred one but Come Clay With Me looks so nice on my Mum as she’s more into pinky shades than me.
