This post is dedicated to my fellow busy Mamas who want to look amazing but don’t necessarily have all the time in the world to look after their skin the way they did before they had their bubbas.

In my previous post Organic skincare and beauty – why should I choose it?, I made a point that organic skincare doesn’t have to be more expensive than conventional skincare which is why I’ve put together a list of my favourite products that are effective, have powerful natural ingredients, AND are absolutely affordable.

So here are my top 9 under £10 organic skincare treats for busy Mamas:

1. Balm Balm Rose Floral Water Hydrosol (30ml, £7.50)

Balm Balm Rose Floral WaterA brilliant toner, base for a facial oil (which should be applied on slightly damp skin) as well as a spritzer to refresh your face, especially on a warm day. I’m on my second bottle as I love it so much. There are a few other floral waters from Balm Balm so choose one that will suit your skin type.

2. Balm Balm Hibiscus Mask (40g, £9.50)Balm Balm Hibiscus Face Mask

I only have three words for this mask – OH. MY. GOODNESS! It smells absolutely divine and I wrote a separate review of this mask in my March 2017 skincare favourites.

3. Balm Balm Frankincense Deep Cleansing Balm (30ml, £9.00)

Balm Balm Frankincense Deep Cleansing BalmIf you haven’t discovered the oil cleansing method, then you really need to jump on the bandwagon as it’s a life changer. The skin on my forehead used to be drier than the Sahara dessert and I was getting fed up of trying product after product, only to discover they would dry out my skin even more. Enter oil cleansing to take off my make-up at night, followed by a good natural moisturiser or even better a facial oil, and boom – my skin is soft and I don’t get that awful tightness in the morning.

4. herbfarmacy Organic Muslin Cloth (£2.50)Herbfarmacy organic cotton exfoliating muslin cloth

A must-have accessory for oil cleansing. I’ve completely ditched cotton pads in place of reusable muslin cloths to remove my make up and wash my face – they’re so much better for cleaning your face thoroughly, plus are so much more cost-effective! Think about all the cotton pads you’ve bought of the years and how much you could save in the future by getting a couple of these muslin cloths!

5. herbfarmacy Horse Chestnut Balm (20ml, £6.50)

herbfarmacy horse chestnut balmA nice little pot to keep by your bedside to apply after a long day to relieve aching legs. Horse chestnut is also said to help minimise the appearance of varicose veins which many of us Mums get after pregnancy.

Balm Balm rose geranium organic lip balm

6. Balm Balm Rose Geranium Organic Lip Balm Pot (7ml, £5.50)

This is a great multi-tasker and my handbag/ changing bag essential! Apart from being a great lip balm, it can also be used on dry elbows, to soften cuticles, as a nappy balm or to tame those stray eyebrow hairs!

Balm Balm little miracle rosehip serum6. Balm Balm Little Miracle Rosehip Serum (10ml, £8.00)

If you’ve read any of my previous posts (i.e. on my homemade facial serums and March 2017 skincare favourites), you’ll know that I love rosehip oil. It’s one of my favourite ingredients and I love trying out new products that contain it. I haven’t yet tested this particular serum but as you can clearly see, I’m a big fan of many Balm Balm products so I have a feeling this one will join the others as my fave!

Balm Balm Essential oil lavender7. Balm Balm Essential Oil Lavender (10ml, £7.70)

Put a few drops of this lavender essential oil in the bath to unwind or sprinkle some on your pillow to help you sleep better as lavender is renowned for its sleep-aiding and relaxing properties. You can do the same for your children. You can also mix a few drops with your favourite plant-based oil such as sweet almond oil (no more than 2 drops per 5ml carrier oil!) for an indulgent after-bath body massage. Please remember not to apply essential oils directly onto your skin as they’re highly concentrated and really potent, and can irritate your skin! You should also do a patch test for any new essential oils before you use them, as well as check the safety information as some essential oils are not recommended for use when pregnant or breastfeeding.

8. Odylique Lavender Cleansing Bar (100g, £6.50)

Odylique lavender cleansing barIf you want a safer and kinder alternative to conventional shower gels or hand washes that contain harsh ingredients, such as SLS, then a nice natural soap is definitely the answer. Soaps are having a bit of a comeback moment but make sure you look at their ingredients before you buy a bar of soap as there could be some harsh ingredients lurking inside them! This one has a nice ingredient composition so it gets my thumbs up. My contact dermatitis has improved significantly since I ditched SLS-laden products and my skin is definitely thanking me for it.

9. herbfarmacy Chickweed Balm (20ml, £6.50)herbfarmacy chickweed balm

When I’m stressed, I suffer from some really painful flare ups of eczema on my hands (broken and itchy skin, sometimes leading to bleeding), which can sometimes be quite tricky to soothe when I’m busy running around during the day. However, an overnight application of this balm has a very calming effect on those flare ups. I’m really impressed with this product as in the past it was only raw shea butter that would work best for me. Buy from LoveLula.

  1. I’m not yet a mother but I’m always busy so I still love your list, particularly the herbfarmacy Organic Muslin Cloth.I haven’t tried cloth for removing makeup, I always rely on wipes. Thanks for sharing these tips. I would be trying this muslin cloth soon. What’s your favorite product from the list you shared with us?

    • Hi Sally! Thanks for stopping by! I’m glad you found this list useful – even though some of us don’t have kids, life can be pretty hectic anyway, right? Muslin cloths (and oil cleansing) have really changed the condition of my skin so I couldn’t recommend them enough. You’ve asked a tricky question as all of these products are fab but if I have to choose one, then it’d be the Balm Balm cleansing balm. Let me know if you have any other questions x
