A bit of a different post to finish off this week 🙂 Hope you enjoy finding out a little bit about me.

  1. I’m 33 years of age – for another four months 🙂
  2. I have a First Class Honours degree in Cultural Studies with Creative & Professional Writing from University of East London.
  3. When I was a kid, I really wanted to be either a teacher, a doctor or a journalist.
  4. Then when I went to Uni, my dream was to work in the film industry as a script writer (hence the degree choice) but by the end, I didn’t believe in myself enough to pursue it further.
  5. I have always loved writing. I started when I was a little girl – my Mum still has a few of my little ‘stories’, including one about “a flower without a leaf.” Aww 🙂
  6. I also used to write poetry – I started at the age of 14 and wrote regularly until I was about 28. I have lots of hand written notebooks filled with verses. It’s amazing to read through them now.
  7. I did consider a career in teaching at Uni and managed to get a three-month placement at a primary school that was called South Park – I kid you not!!
  8. I now work for a very well-known charity in the UK (where I’ve worked since I finished Uni) and my current role is of a Programme Manager – we deliver lots of exciting local projects across the country.
  9. When at Uni, I had a part-time job as a receptionist at a luxury beauty salon in Notting Hill and met a few celebrities. My favourite one was definitely Victoria Beckham who visited us a few times.
  10. My favourite writer is Jeanette Winterson. I have read so many books of hers but my favourite ones are: Weight, Gut Symmetries and Why Be Happy When You Could Be Normal?
  11. My favourite films are:  It’s a Wonderful Life  and  La Vie En Rose..
  12. I was born and brought up in a small town in north-west part of Poland. Ever since I started learning English, I wanted to live abroad in an English-speaking country so I guess I’ve made my dream come true as I’ve lived in the UK for the past 14 years.
  13. I began private English lessons at the age of 7-8 when my parents noticed I was repeating a lot of lines from shows on Cartoon Network. Anyone remembers Jonny Bravo? 🙂 🙂 🙂
  14. I’ve been together with my husband for 7.5 years and married for just over two years.
  15. I have one younger brother – he is 6′ 7″ and used to play basketball professionally.
  16. I have a phobia of bridges – I absolutely hate walking or even driving on them!
  17. I have three tattoos – a heart with wings on my lower back, a butterfly on my ankle and a star constellation on my shoulder blade.
  18. I love baking! That’s because I have the biggest sweet tooth ever! My Mum says that I used to dip chocolate in sugar when I was a kid – oh dear 😉
  19. I have seen the ‘Friends’ sitcom like a million times (!!!) and I must be so annoying when the show is on and I mouth the lines before they are even spoken by the actors!
  20. My only regret in life is that I haven’t travelled enough. There’s so many places on my bucket list so I need to get a move on to start ticking them off.
